Welcome to Luna! We are an independent bookstore in the city of Hyderabad, India.

Luna is the result of a belief that our cities and neighbourhoods need more independent bookstores, run by booksellers who are passionate about books and reading. We are thoughtful and deliberate about the books we keep on our shelves. We try and strike a balance between the books of the moment and the books of all time, and we confess we are not enamoured with the term "bestsellers". We are a bookshop that is likely to sell a single copy of twenty different books rather than twenty copies of one book. This is by design. There are millions of books in the world, we can only have a tiny fraction of them on our shelves, and we can personally read an even tinier fraction in our lifetimes. Choosing what to keep (and, equally importantly, what to leave out) is therefore a responsibility we take seriously.

We choose to be a brick and mortar store but we do now offer a shipping service across India .

Sapna writes about Laurie Colwin's work. Colwin was a novelist who liked to cook, and to write about food, whose novels, short stories, and essays continue to be loved and read today. While her food writing often gets the spotlight today, it’s her novels that are at the heart of her literary legacy.

Sapna writes about Tom Chesshyre's travel writing. With a fondness for long distance walks, trains and train travel, and his journalistic nose for a good story, he is one of our favourite travel writers.
