The Bookish Life of Nina Hill
Abbi Waxman
The Bookish Life of Nina Hill by Abbi Waxman tells the story of Nina Hill, an introverted young woman who lives a meticulously planned life centered around her job at a bookstore, her trivia team, her world-class planner, and her cat, Phil. She is perfectly content with her solitude and her vast collection of books.
However, Nina's perfectly ordered world is turned upside down when she receives unexpected news: the father she never knew existed has died and named her in his will. This revelation means not only is she suddenly connected to a large, sprawling, and eccentric family, but they all live nearby and are eager to meet her. Nina, who avoids social interaction is horrified by the prospect.
As if a brand-new family wasn't enough to contend with, Nina also finds herself crossing paths with Tom, a cute and funny member of a rival trivia team who seems very interested in getting to know her. The novel follows Nina's journey as she navigates these unexpected changes, learning to step outside her comfort zone and discover that real life, with all its chaotic and surprising elements, might just be as fulfilling as the stories she loves in books.
