Operations Manager

​

We are currently looking to recruit an operations manager to join our back-of-house at Luna Books. This is not a customer-facing position; it is primarily an analytical and back-room operational role. We are looking for a woman, suitably qualified, to fill this position.

 

The Luna Operations Manager will:

 

• assist the curator in placing book orders. This is a near-daily exercise and will take up a significant portion of your work time.

• monitor status of pending orders and follow up with the publishers and distributors for timely delivery.

• be responsible for all shelf management – shelving new books received, replenishing copies on the shelves, managing displays, correcting any mis-shelving on an ongoing basis. 

• Generate periodic MIS

• have excellent analytical skills and a solid grasp of MS-Excel. 

• have excellent communication skills (spoken and written English).

• be efficient, organized, committed, and be able to work personably within a small team.

 

Also:

 

• Prior experience in retail is not preferred. However, at least 3-4 years of prior work experience in an analytical/operations role will be required.

• While you do not need to be a voracious reader, an interest in reading will be an advantage in this role, as you work with the curator on sourcing books.

• While the store is open 6 days in a week, we can come up with a mutually agreeable schedule for working days and hours per week. 

• Salary of INR 500,000 per annum. Negotiable for the right candidate.
